Hamilton Darcey LLP is an RICS regulated Chartered Surveying practice with offices in London and Birmingham. We undertake instructions relating to all aspects of Building Surveying and Design services with particular specialist knowledge in the commercial and high end residential sectors.

Fiona is a Chartered Building Surveyor and qualified interior designer with over eighteen years of experience in the industry, having obtained her degree in Building Surveying at the University of Westminster in London. Fiona’s extensive technical knowledge coupled with her significant experience of interior design provide clients with a holistic approach to their projects, tailored to their individual requirements.
Having project managed major works to both residential and commercial properties, including the successful acquisition of statutory consents for Planning, Listed Building and Building Control from Local Authorities, Fiona acts as an expert advisor to clients undertaking projects of all sizes and types.
As principal quality assurance partner, Fiona is dedicated to ensuring that all of Hamilton Darcey’s instructions are carried out to the highest professional standards ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Chris obtained his degree in Building Surveying from Sheffield Hallam University before qualifying as a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Chris is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is also a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club, which seeks to promote best practice in relation to Party Wall procedures. Chris is an RICS Registered Expert Witness.
Chris has previously acted for a wide range of clients, covering all areas of project and professional work. His experience includes major works refurbishments to privately owned residential blocks, project managing the construction of new build residential apartments and providing professional expertise in such matters as Party Walls, Rights of Light, Licences for Alteration and Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
Chris is also an APC Assessor as well as a Mentor for APC candidates in the London area and undertakes the role of APC Supervisor and Counsellor for RICS candidates.
Toby is a Chartered Building Surveyor with significant experience across various sectors within the property and construction industry. Further to gaining his degree from Sheffield Hallam University and subsequently becoming a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Toby has gone on to work across a number of sectors within the property industry, including; residential, offices, industrial, retail and leisure.
Toby’s core specialisms include Contract Administration, Licence for Alterations, Planned Maintenance Programmes and Defect Diagnosis. Toby also has significant experience and expertise in Acquisition Surveys, Dilapidations, Reinstatement Cost Assessments, Project Management and Development Monitoring. Toby has worked within large national consultancies as well as an in-house surveyor for a Birmingham based landlord and developer.
As Partner for the Midlands office, Toby brings a wealth of experience from these roles to provide tailored advice, coupled with local market expertise.
With experience across the commercial and high-end residential sector, Ben is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Partner at Hamilton Darcey. Ben has worked with a variety of different clients ranging from Right to Manage (RTM) companies and private landlords, to asset managers, developers and managing agents.
Ben has been involved in the repair, refurbishment and restoration of a number of residential mansion blocks throughout London and the South-East, including complex window replacement schemes to listed buildings and fire remedial and reinstatement work. His experience also extends to producing 10 year planned maintenance reports on residential properties. These range from heritage buildings to modern residential blocks, providing clients with clear budget forecasts of expenditure for service charge recovery.
Ben is an expert in Licence to Alter instructions and has a wealth of experience reviewing, appraising and agreeing Leaseholder alteration proposals.
