Hamilton Darcey LLP is an RICS regulated Chartered Surveying practice based in central London. We undertake instructions relating to all aspects of Building Surveying and Design services with particular specialist knowledge in the commercial and high end residential sectors.
With a wealth of experience spanning a range of disciplines, including major works project management, statutory compliance, neighbourly matters and technical due diligence, we act as a trusted advisor to both individuals and corporate entities.

Chris obtained his degree in Building Surveying from Sheffield Hallam University before qualifying as a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Chris is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is also a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club, which seeks to promote best practice in relation to Party Wall procedures. Chris is an RICS Registered Expert Witness.
Chris has previously acted for a wide range of clients, covering all areas of project and professional work. His experience includes major works refurbishments to privately owned residential blocks, project managing the construction of new build residential apartments and providing professional expertise in such matters as Party Walls, Rights of Light, Licences for Alteration and Reinstatement Cost Assessments.
Chris is also an APC Assessor as well as a Mentor for APC candidates in the London area and undertakes the role of APC Supervisor and Counsellor for RICS candidates.
With experience across the commercial and high-end residential sector, Ben is a Chartered Building Surveyor and Partner at Hamilton Darcey. Ben has worked with a variety of different clients ranging from Right to Manage (RTM) companies and private landlords, to asset managers, developers and managing agents.
Ben has been involved in the repair, refurbishment and restoration of a number of residential mansion blocks throughout London and the South-East, including complex window replacement schemes to listed buildings and fire remedial and reinstatement work. His experience also extends to producing 10 year planned maintenance reports on residential properties. These range from heritage buildings to modern residential blocks, providing clients with clear budget forecasts of expenditure for service charge recovery.
Ben is an expert in Licence to Alter instructions and has a wealth of experience reviewing, appraising and agreeing Leaseholder alteration proposals.
Barnaby obtained a first-class honours degree from the University of Greenwich, where he studied Property Development and Management. He is pursuing his RICS chartership and is currently undertaking his APC.
Since joining Hamilton Darcey in May 2022, his growing experience in the high-end residential sector ranges from contract administration, defect inspection, party wall instructions and reviewing proposals on behalf of Landlords for applications for a licence to alter.
As well as meticulous attention to detail, he regularly goes above and beyond to meet his client’s needs which has helped develop strong relationships.
Barnaby is a sociable character who enjoys playing rugby, a round of golf and cycling.
Will joined Hamilton Darcey in November 2022 as an Assistant Building Surveyor undertaking the full range of service lines including Major Works and Party Wall matters.
Having completed his RICS accredited Masters from Nottingham Trent University he is currently enrolled on the pathway towards full Chartership Status. Will’s previous experience in CIF bid work and overseeing large roof refurbishment projects assists with his role in specifying, tendering and overseeing major works projects.
Will is fluent in French and outside of work, Will enjoys planning his next ski trip and going to the gym.
Sean has worked within the Leasehold sector for over 15 years as a marketing professional, specialising in business development. Sean provides in depth PR and also strategic marketing both in a direct and digital capacity.
Outside of work Sean is a keen sports fan, who enjoys playing tennis and weekend trips to Craven Cottage!
